Green Building 2005

In 2005 we:

  • Offered high value educational opportunities for design, development and construction professionals on green building standards programs: Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) for commercial buildings and BuiltGreen for residential buildings, in addition to Low Impact Development strategies.
  • Collaborated with local jurisdictions to draft and pass Green Building Policies that encourage green building projects and a resolution specifying LEED standards for new public buildings and large remodels.
  • Developed new and existing market development activities, including the 3rd annual Imagine This! Home & Landscape Tour of eco-friendly homes in our community.
  • Consolidated the highest quality tools and resources on the web and in our office to provide convenient research opportunities for building professionals. We created regional tools such as a Northwest Regional Green Building Products Matrix.
  • Offered free or reduced rate design assistance to upcoming projects that have LEED & Built Green potential.
  • Offered green building grant seeking assistance to help offset the increased design costs associated with green buildings until the market is more mature and costs come down.
